I tried to write a witty little poem to Santa. I really did. I browsed the many ingenious poems that people have been magically zapping onto their blogs. But you know what? I can’t think of anything to say. It’s sad, really, to think that writer’s block would hit right around flying sleigh time. But here it is…bummer. Today’s post is a quote I saw and liked. I hope you like it too. 🙂
“Christmas, my child, is love in action. Every time we love, every time we give, it’s Christmas.” -Dale Evans
So….what are your plans for Christmas?
A quiet Christmas with family and turkey dinner. I love the quote you posted!
Sounds relaxing! Thanks for reading!
Pure and simple, that statement is the unadulterated truth…..how I wish we would every day carry the spirit of that truth in our hearts. What a different kind of world it would be! 🙂
True – the world would be a brighter place! Merry Christmas! 🙂
My husband’s best friend died of lung cancer around the Christmas of 2010. “It Is What It Is” was his favorite quote. Love this post!
I am so sorry for your loss. It’s amazing that my title was his favorite quote! Thanks for reading, and merry Christmas.
Wonderful quote, definitely in the spirit of the season – have a very Merry Christmas!
Thank you, and Merry Christmas to you as well!
On 24 December, I will celebrate Xmas with my Viking. On 25 December, we will be at my parents’ place and the day afterwards, we leave for a road trip to Denmark. And finally, on 27 December, we will celebrate Xmas with the Viking’s family! 🙂
Wow you’ll be busy during the holidays! Thanks for sharing – and enjoy your Christmases!
You could not have done better(probably just as good) than this Dale Evans quote. Giving is truly the spirit of the season.
Thank you, granbee! I thought this quote was a nice way to sum up Christmas spirit.
Try writing a poem to Santa along these thoughts: He gives to everyone, ask what he has received in return. I am sure you can craft a poem around this. Tis a season for giving. Good luck…hope to visit and read your poem 🙂
What a wonderful idea – I love the angle! Can’t wait to write and post it! Be on the lookout in the next few days or so.
I just finished making two batches of chocolate chip oatmeal cookies, two of oatmeal raisin cookies, one of whipped shortbread, two dozen + butter tarts and 32 pecan tarts – all for other people. Still have two kinds of fudge and more cookies for gifts! Then I’ll relax for a day.
And relax you should! 🙂 I bet your kitchen smells marvelous from all that cooking.
My plans for Christmas? Sit at home, eat good food, try not to get behind with my coursework.
I think one of my favourite things about Christmas is the food, really. The middle of winter is a good time for a feast – I usually feel like I could use some cheering up – and since I started university and moved out of my parents’ house I’ve missed having actual, proper meals on a regular basis (as opposed to the usual student fare).
Sounds like a great plan!! And there’s nothing like a home-cooked meal 🙂
