The weatherman’s been telling me to prepare for snow since November. But FINALLY last night we got some snow! Hopefully more comes soon. ๐Ÿ™‚

Photo Op: Hidden Sunset

The first day I was completely geared up to get some killer sunset shots, the sky was swamped with clouds. I took a shot anyway because of the color. The entire week I was at the beach, the clouds were thick and numerous!

Photo Op: Foliage Rain

It feels like late summer/early fall outside, and if my calendar’s correct, it’s December! I’m not complaining though. I love leaving the house without a jacket on. My only wish in terms of weather is that I have a white Christmas ๐Ÿ™‚

Photo Op: November Rain

I’ve seen so many “rain on window” shots, and decided to take one myself ๐Ÿ™‚ Not sure why, but it was fun figuring out how I wanted to take this shot.

Well, the worst of the storm is over, and the power is on! Thanks for all the prayers – I hope you all have kept dry and have power too. Oh, and Happy Halloween! ๐Ÿ™‚

The “Joys” of Raking

Raking has always been a bit of a mixed bag to me. I love running around in “leaf rain,” but collecting it can be a bit of a pain. And although raking requires ZERO skill (yay!), it becomes a tedious task all too quickly. So I’m faced with the dilemma of whether to rake everyday or hope no one looks at the lawn till the day before it first snows….or I could twiddle my fingers and hope the snow comes early to cover up my procrastination. Choices….choices….

Here’s a poem from the famedย Robert Frostย himself.

Gathering Leaves:

Spades take up leaves
No better than spoons,
And bags full of leaves
Are light as balloons.
I make a great noise
Of rustling all day
Like rabbit and deer
Running away.
But the mountains I raise
Elude my embrace,
Flowing over my arms
And into my face.
I may load and unload
Again and again
Till I fill the whole shed,
And what have I then?
Next to nothing for weight,
And since they grew duller
From contact with earth,
Next to nothing for color.
Next to nothing for use.
But a crop is a crop,
And who’s to say where
The harvest shall stop?

It’s Beginning to Look a lot Like….

Autumn! The leaves are slowly changing colors and spinning to the ground. The air is cool and crisp. I can wear sweaters every day of the week without people thinking I’m insane. These are just a few perks to my favorite season! Get ready for a slew of fall pictures! (Riiiight after I take some…)

More Clouds Anyone?

It’s still super cloudy! I thought the clouds wouldย have to die down after two weeks of rain showers and thunderstorms. But no…. Here’s the view looking up ๐Ÿ™‚ (P.S. I thought it was EPIC that a bird flew into my shot the exact moment I snapped the photo!)
